Nick strives to be the perfect husband and father and avoid his parents’ mistakes -- when he was a child, his trans parent, Briana, left the family. The recent death of his mother, however, pushes Nick to contact Briana. The duo set off on a journey to the coast where they plan to scatter the ashes. Will they overcome the initial incomprehension of the gender identity of the ageing parent and find some common ground? This intimate road movie addresses the painful topic of problems between children and their trans parents and will enchant you with the acting performances. The fleeting glimpses into the past and music by Son of Cloud help to make Landlocked an experience for all the senses, a fact also confirmed by the film winning the Gió Stajano prize at the Lovers Film festival in Torino. angielski Oh, this film is a huge disappointment to me. It's a low-budget film, which has affected it so much that it actually would have been better not to make it at all - or at least when there was more money to make it. I hardly believed the actors in their performances at all - either the director failed or it would have been nice to recast the whole film. The whole story to me was a huge rip-off of Lola, which also features a trans daughter bonding with her father on the road. The problem with this film is that the same problem was rehashed over and over again and not only the ending but some parts were predictable. The biggest stumbling block is the sound - a sound that lacks bass and a good mix. It was so bad that after leaving the cinema I had to ask the staff if it was their fault or if the film was really that badly made... The director didn't bother to exploit the film's sense of language and dealt with it with ghostly dialogue windows and shots of the sea. I absolutely do not recommend the film - it's boring, unbelievable and technically a complete failure. ()
