Admission shows the normal work day in the clinic, presenting the hospital as machine. Parallel cuts open up the visible – patient admission – and invisible worlds – from doctor’s meetings to disinfection of the beds – of the medical system; mechanisms become
recognisable. The view remains distant, as do the emotions, which do not invade professional hospital daily life. The crucial point of this everyday routine, as well as of the film, is repetition, a rhythmical repetition of work steps (…). The visual level is accompanied by a wonderful soundtrack. The sound is continuous, the conventional separation between atmospheric images and dialogue scenes does not exist. Instead David Sanchez built up the sound from only partly synchronous everyday noises, which overlay the film as a genuine score. (DOK.fest München)
