W więzieniu w ukraińskiej Odessie wyrok odsiaduje ponad sto kobiet. Jedną z nich jest Lesja, skazana na siedem lat za zbrodnię w afekcie. Kobieta właśnie spodziewa się dziecka, ma więc świadomość, że przyjdzie ono na świat za więziennymi kratami i będzie się z nim mogła widywać tylko sporadycznie. (Kino na hranici)

A perfectly crafted theme set in the gloomy environment of a women's prison in Odessa, Ukraine. The average person doesn't get the chance every day to take a peek inside and doesn't even particularly care to. Slovak director Peter Kerekes has made a great job of blending documentary with movie, and I found the result surprisingly engaging. I didn't feel sorry for the mothers serving time for serious crimes, but I did feel sorry for the children born there. In terms of character, I was very impressed by the warden Irina, who was involved in censoring prison correspondence quite extensively. (85%)
