Glorious Bustards

The Great Bustard is the Dodo of our time. In many countries this critically endangered species is dwindling towards extinction. But there is hope. In rural Germany, a farmer, a mechanic and a food engineer - none of them professionals in conservation - are struggling to rescue the heaviest of all flying birds. Endangered clutches of eggs from the last wild bustards are collected and hatched in incubators. The bustard hatchlings are raised by hand, released and integrated step by step into the wild population. An immersive conservation story, told like an odyssey of a species and its safeguards.
