Building Bastille

Incredible story about the representative building of the Bastille opera in Paris built in 1989 on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the storming of the Bastille. The winner of the prestigious international competition commemorating the significant French symbol became the hitherto unknown Canadian architect Carlos Ott. While selecting from anonymous proposals, the jury had mistaken his proposal for work of the famous American architect Richard Meier.
