Hrafn Gunnlaugsson returns to recreate the viking era following the highly successfull The Raven Flies. This time, however, the storytelling is inspired by the Icelandic sagas, the story of Tristan and Isolde and the Greek tragedies. In the Shadow of the Raven tells the story of a young man, Trausti, who arrives in Iceland from Norway, where he has completed his studies for the priesthood. A man of peace, he is thrust by fate into the midst of civil strife in Iceland, where that he meets Ísól. Unmarried and yet a mother, she represents the Eternal Feminine, the woman that Goethe sought in vain. In the Shadow of the Raven is first and foremost a story of strong individuals set against the powerful workings of fate. (oficjalny tekst dystrybutora)
