A Taste of Whale

The water in the fjord, surrounded by fairytale green mountains, is blood red. It is "Grind" season again - the Faroe Islands' annual tradition of slaughtering humpback whales. Two proud whalers from the Faroe Islands are on one side, two young and passionate Sea Shephard activists are on the other. A Taste of Whale takes you on board a visual, graphic and gripping journey where we look past the preconceived notion of the "Humpback whale killings" and ask questions about what is really behind the traditional hunting method. Instead of a classic story about "the good against the bad", this documentary shows a nuanced picture of the situation and asks the question: Why? (The Norwegian International Film Festival)
