Ljudmila Ignatensko was 23 years old in 1986, and five months pregnant. She was in love with her husband Vasilij, a fireman in Pripyat, the city built around the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. On the night between April 25 and 26 Vasilij responded to a call - there was a fire at the nuclear plant. "Go to sleep again - I will wake you when I get back" he told Ljudmila.
