She knows how the Earth could end up if something doesn't change. He can see what's going to happen and that zombies may come. Her ability can be used, which some people want to do. But then there are others who want to help her. And all of that in a boring and uneventful ride without any excitement; it really lacks action, which the creators probably didn't have the money or skills for.
