In a Holy Grail War, Mages (Masters) and their Heroic Spirits (Servants) fight for the control of the Holy Grail - an omnipotent wish-granting device said to fulfill any desire. Years have passed since the end of the Fifth Holy Grail War in Japan. Now, signs portend the emergence of a new Holy Grail in the western American city of Snowfield.
Sure enough, Masters and Servants begin to gather... A missing Servant class... Impossible Servant summonings... A nation shrouded in secrecy... And a city created as a battleground. In the face of such irregularities, the Holy Grail War is twisted and driven into the depth of madness. Let the curtain rise on a masquerade of humans and heroes, made to dance upon the stage of a false Holy Grail. (Crunchyroll)

angielski It's basically a prologue to the upcoming series from what I gathered, and it intrigued me for two main reasons. Firstly, in the trailers and previews, the animation looked more than promising; it was evident that the animation studio A-1 Pictures knows their craft. Secondly, the original work's author is Ryohgo Narita, who, over the years, has consistently delivered very interesting and memorable characters, along with incredibly crazy and entertaining stories. In the end, I wasn't disappointed at all. Everything I anticipated was there, and I also found myself enjoying the music, which added to the overall above-average experience. My main struggle was initially understanding the premise — what this fake war for the grail was all about, and who was who. Although I've delved into quite a bit of the Fate universe, I haven't seen everything. Thankfully, this special does a good job of explaining things, making it accessible even for those unfamiliar with this world. As a teaser for a potential upcoming series, it certainly worked on me. I'd definitely give this Fate/... a chance in the future. The prologue captured my interest, and just like in Gantz, I'll probably be rooting for the dog (okay, a wolf). 7/10 ()
