Oscar jest małą, gadatliwą rybką, która marzy o wielkiej sławie. Jednak te marzenia zaczynają z czasem przysparzać mu sporych kłopotów. Lenny z kolei to wielki żarłacz, który ma nieco bardziej delikatną i wrażliwą naturę niż przeciętny rekin, a poza tym wstydliwie skrywa swój sekret - jest wegetarianinem. Spokojne początkowo wody morskie zostają wzburzone, kiedy to z pozoru niewinne kłamstewko Oscara czyni z niego nieoczekiwanego bohatera. Zaprzyjaźnione rybki dają się złapać na haczyk historyjki Oscara, a na niego samego spada deszcz sławy i bogactwa. Wydawałoby się, że wszystko idzie gładko ... do czasu, kiedy staje się jasne, że historia o byciu obrońcą Rafy to tylko bajeczka dla grzecznych rybek. Prawda o Lennym sprawia, że Oscar staje się wyrzutkiem Rafy, co chcąc nie chcąc zbliża go do Lenny'ego. (UIP)

Shark Tale is one of those animated movies that doesn’t dazzle, but still serves its purpose and entertains. But still, when you compare it with Nemo (in view of the circumstances, that is probably the best movie for comparison), it just isn’t quite as good. Although there are some bits that work really well (the Godfather and the shark mafia thing is really good) but voices of the famous and the catchphrase “from the creators of Shrek" simply isn’t enough to produce a quality movie. The animation itself is pretty poor when compared with the competition and although this weird fish world has something to it, it can never match the atmosphere of Nemo. DreamWorks should rethink their approach and try to implant their soul into the story, like they do at Pixar. Until they learn to do that, they will never be more than just “the other lot".

Shark Tale has one problem: it wasn’t released before Finding Nemo, and many people will say that it is some kind of imitation. But it’s not. The gangsters in particular are brilliant.

Very enjoyable entertainment with truly stellar voice actors, Zimmer's music and a beautifully rendered underwater world. The lawless con-artist Oscar has wit and panache, shy Lenny is cute and likeable, and De Niro's Don Lino is a proper mobster, though unfortunately he contributes to the story with no emotion, no surprises, and no significant moral overtones. The ingredients work and the film flows, but as a whole it gets lost in the crowded competition and has nothing to say...

This animation itself is just normal, it has a clearly defined story, but those jokes that are in it are just great and fun. In Czech, this movie is excellently dubbed, even though it is spoken by really big names in English. There is plenty of fun for adults too, because some jokes a child simply cannot understand. This is something you can watch when you're in a bad mood.
