A fairly low-key, but all the more engaging Academy Award-winning short about a plasticine guy who has experienced both hard and happy times in his life. The cigarette reference at the end was definitely not out of place. And Geoffrey Rush as the narrator really pleased me, he has a ver likeable voice and that always does a lot. In short, a twenty-minute glimpse into the (un)ordinary life of one guy with a fate that can befall any of us, spiced up with lots of funny and ironic facts.

Black humor, dry narrator voice (altogether disappointing), and hideous plasticine animation (I don't like it). Not much for me.. some of the segments I've seen of Mary and Max I found significantly funnier though, so I won't dismiss Elliot just yet.
