I’m probably overly conservative, but this loser story that doesn't really go anywhere is too "weird" for me. There are a few perfect moments but then there is the rest, which lies in a different dimension of humor. Yet for those who sometimes feel a bit "different" in society, it is certainly a blessing... and perhaps not only for them.

In a way, this movie was actually a phenomenon. After watching it for an hour and a half, a handful of absolutely, yes absolutely extraordinary characters are involved in such a banal and thin plot that it shouldn't really be called a plot at all, yet this is one of those movies that will stay with you for a long time, and you will remember how hard you laughed. Jon Heder in the title role is out of this world!

This is truly a film you won't come across just anywhere because it requires the writer and director to have a vision. Napoleon Dynamite really isn't for everyone. Some scenes are surprisingly good, especially in playing with awkwardness, but also in conveying the message that it doesn't matter who we are, we all share this place anyway.
