Meztelen diplomata

Félix, a somewhat clod-hopping young man, finds himself in the Grand Hotel of Little Lagonda, barefooted and in pyjamas. He is soon followed by a hooded, fat and leggy gangster. This is all the more strange as the hotel is under quarantine with the pretext of a plague-epidemic, in order to make it a suitable ground for the negotiations of certain oil-companies. Stupid-looking diplomats, unsuspecting bankers, cunning gangsters and shocked outsiders outwit each other again and again consciously and by accident in order to get hold of a little book which contains the secret map of oil-spots. In the general chaos, the book finds its way to Felix instead of Smith, who even makes use of the gangsters to have it sent to the right person, Warren. Yet the tides are turned again; Warren refuses to pay, and the secret clause of the contract, in a case, flies into the car of the diplomats dressed in morning coats.
