Foma, the heir of a rich merchant, has never been able to find his place among the people of his class. After his father dies, he inherits a great fortune but cannot manage it properly. Unable to witness all the injustice of the world, he enters into an acute conflict with the society, which will yield no results. Weak and lost, soon he'll reach the rock bottom.
