I liked this show a lot all those many years ago, but after two seasons it started losing its breath and went through a crisis of sorts. After Season 6, I gave up on watching it altogether. This year, I started reviewing shows I'd already seen, so I gave it another chance and made it to the end. I'm not going to lie; my frustration grew with each successive season, so I was really surprised that the final season wasn't the worst one. As I said, the first two seasons were okay, but the quality started to fade in the third season, and then it went downhill from there. After the first season, I was satisfied. It’s true that the creators repeatedly went too deep into relationship issues, which I wasn’t exactly crazy about and even got a bit bored. They did manage to balance it out with good comedy that prevailed in most of the episodes, though. The creators are getting more confident, judging by the plot of this episode. I wasn't exactly rolling on the floor laughing, but it kept me entertained throughout, with a few good laughs. Gave this episode a solid four stars, but let's be real, without Barney, aka Neil Patrick Harris, there wouldn't be much to laugh about. Not that the rest of the plot wasn't amusing, it just had me smiling rather than laughing out loud. The fifth episode had a bit of a twist from the others — Barney Stinson didn't take the lead. Not that he was any less striking, but this time around, Marshall stole the show. The sixth episode wasn't bad, but it didn't quite nail it for me. Barney kept it entertaining, Marshall and Lily added some fun, but Robin made me feel uncomfortable. Not Robin herself but the situation she got stuck in. Hate it when someone drools into my food. A pretty lackluster episode. Not sure what the creators were going for with this one, but the humor was seriously lacking. Barney got sidelined for some reason, and not even a cross between two species could save the situation. / Lesson learned: Do you let the experts pick your partner? Well, have fun with that. The ninth episode is hands down one of the best in this series, at least in my book. Holidays in Minnesota turned out to be unforgettable for me, and the Eriksen family practically confirmed Sasquatch's existence. And just when I thought it couldn't get any better, there were these selfless volunteers sacrificing themselves for those in need. / Lesson: When it comes to charity, don't fuss over some truffle oil. The episode was a blast — I love it when lost memories are put back together in flashbacks, piece by piece. The creators deserve props for that. I only wish I knew where that pineapple came from. The twelfth episode had potential, but it just didn't hit the right notes for me. Too much sympathy and relationship advice, and not enough humor for my taste. Claudia, though, was a standout, even if she's part of that annoying trend that's spreading like wildfire these days. Episode thirteen was way too estrogen-heavy for my taste and not that funny. The only exceptions were Barney and cake-obsessed Marshall. Everything else felt kind of meh, especially the weird wedding games and their in-depth analysis. I had a great time with this episode, unlike the last one. Sure, Ted and Victoria spoiled it a bit for me, but that turned out to be a minor hiccup because I had a blast with Lily and Marshall, and Barney and Robin totally nailed it. Episode fifteen was AWESOME!!! I got a little carried away there. What I meant to say is, it was great. Loved Barney's transformation to the dark side of the Force, and those quirky life stories had me entertained. Marshall's Marshgammon was hilarious. It's one of those rare episodes that had me laughing at everything with no dull moments. And those are hard to come by. / Lesson learned: Think carefully about what you want to ask. (07.09.2022)

I loved the wedding dress shopping and suit tailoring scenes, and Barney killed it as a recruiter. The plot of the episode had a relevance to the story, but I didn't vibe with it much. The creators went heavy on the relationship stuff for my taste, squeezing out the humor, flooding it with emotional ups and romantic flares, and leaving no space for the funny scenes I was hoping for.
