The Matrimony

Xu Manli (Fan BingBing, Flashpoint) is a stylish modern woman in 1930's Shanghai. she knows her boyfriend, Junchu (Leona Lai, Seven Swords, Empress and the Warriors) is about to propose to her, but before he can she's killed in a car accident and dies in his arms. Unable to forget Manli, Junchu's mother arranges for him to marry Sansan (Rene Liu, A World Without Thieves) but it only results in a loveless marriage. With Sansan desperate to win Junchu's love and the ghostly Manli determined to reunite with him one last time, the two strike a deal that turns from friendly to vengeful. reminiscent of the Alfred Hitchcock classic Rebecca, Matrimony is a beautiful, terrifying drama.
