With Kiba leading the way, the Leaf ninja follow Sasuke's scent that they picked up from the site of the explosion. But Karin senses the ninja hounds' presence. Suspecting a pursuit by the Leaf ninja, she notifies the others and the Hebi members quickly leave the inn. To allow Sasuke to focus on his coming battle with Itachi, Karin comes up with a plan to keep the Leaf ninja occupied. Thrown off by Karin's plan, Naruto uses his Shadow Clone Jutsu to search for Sasuke, when Itachi Uchiha suddenly appears.
