City dweller Asema falls in love with Murat, a country boy. She announces her impending wedding, gives notice at work and gets to know Murat's family in his village. Her mother warns her of the bride kidnappings that are still common in rural areas. Murat allows his ex-girlfriend to seduce him at a party, whereupon Asema runs off and then ends up getting kidnapped in a case of mistaken identity. When Murat finds her and attempts to rescue her, she tells him to hit the road. With a healthy dose of irony, Ernest Abdyzhaparov reveals the cultural differences between the urban and rural areas of Kirgizstan. (goEast - Festival des mittel- und osteuropäischen Films)
