The great author, Nyáry György is to be buried and the obituary is planned to be held by his good friend, the academician Márk Aurél, who gets a heart attack, however. Confusion and hysteria arise. The lid of the coffin breaks open, the author gets out and begins to walk towards the cemetery. Before his death it was a widespread rumour that he had written a diary in which he reveals everything and everyone. His wife, the branch, a good friend, the powerful, the young opposition, the press, the media all want to get hold of the diary, there is a big elbowing. Flora, the last lover of the dying man arrives from London.
