Quicksand

Mickey Rooney stars as Danny Brady, a well-meaning mechanic whose whole life is shattered in the matter of a week. Through a series of mishaps, Danny, who is desperate for cash, is forced into robbery. But when his girlfriend's ex-boss Nick Dramoshag (Peter Lorre) picks up on who is responsible for the thievery and tells Danny that he'll keep quiet only if Brady steals a new car from the garage where he works, Danny is forced to oblige. In order to get even with Dramoshag, Danny and his girlfriend rob his safe and split the money. All is well until Danny's boss accuses him of stealing the car and calls the police. Danny attacks him before he can finish the call, leaving him for dead. Thinking he's killed his boss, Danny goes on the run - convinced that he's now wanted for murder. After hijacking a car and holding up an innocent man, Danny has only his wits and his revolver to help him fight for his freedom as the law closes in. (Echo Bridge Entertainment)
