Garncarstwo dla początkujących (2010) (S01E19)

angielski Third time in a row. The creators dished out a mix of elements that don't particularly thrill me, but also threw in some laughs – a formula they've stuck to for three episodes now. While I wasn't blown away, I also didn't feel let down, and that's a significant win in my book. The pottery course wasn't exactly my cup of tea (except for Annie), but the sailing adventure in the parking lot was hilarious. / Lesson learned: "Part of the crew, part of the ship." It's a quote in case you missed it. ()

Nauka iluzji (2010) (S01E20)

angielski The episode kicked off on a high note, but the creators managed to spoil it by the end. The pranks theme had potential, and despite realizing there wouldn't be any actual pranks, I still appreciated the dynamic duo of investigators Edison/Bennett. Abed was also delivering his usual top-notch performance, and I was leaning toward giving it a solid four stars. However, the tearful ending left me thoroughly disgusted. / Lesson learned: Check the direction of the wind before using pepper spray and back away afterwards. ()

Współczesne amerykańskie drobiarstwo (2010) (S01E21)

angielski This episode was hands down the best one yet. As Lord Vetinari would put it: "If you were going to have crime, it at least should be organized crime." Now, I'm not endorsing any kind of crime, but I've got this weird fascination with movies and shows set in the organized crime scene, which is why this episode hit home for me. / Lesson learned: Always cover your back. ()

Sztuka dyskursu (2010) (S01E22)

angielski The previous episode revved up my excitement with its plot and humor, but this one was nearly catastrophic. Where did the screenwriter go wrong? However, I'm positive that if I were twelve, I'd enjoy the plot. Pants were getting pulled down, idiotic sounds were made, and food was thrown. What more could a little kid want, right? / Lesson learned: Don't act like an idiot. ()

Nowoczesna sztuka wojenna (2010) (S01E23)

angielski I was thrilled to rewatch the first paintball episode, even though I still remembered it quite well. After the mess that was the previous episode, this one came with an entertaining plot. It was like something straight out of an '80s action movie. You don't get full-blown action episodes in sitcoms all that often, for obvious reasons, so I'm extra hyped about it. / Lesson learned: Rock'n load! ()

Angielski jako drugi język (2010) (S01E24)

angielski If I were to write what I liked about this episode, I'd be staring at a blank space. It didn't hit the mark for me. Sure, there were a couple of moments that got a chuckle out of me, but the creators could've made more effort. I get it, not every episode's gonna be a banger like the one before, but still. / Lesson learned: If someone's pointing a taser at you, drop the keytar. ()

Trójkąt Pascala (2010) (S01E25)

angielski What a weird finale for the first season. The vibes from this episode were on the same wavelength as the one before it. Thank goodness for those sporadic moments of humor, or it would've gone from what I thought was gonna be a sitcom to this odd romantic drama I was dreading. It couldn't compare with the paintball episode. / Lesson learned: When faced with two choices, go for the third one. ()

Season 2 (2010) (S02)

angielski The second season took a bit of a nosedive in terms of quality. The individual episode ratings were less erratic than the previous season, but sadly, they stayed pretty low. I even gave zero stars to some of them, which says a lot about how disappointed I was with the creators' effort — or, lack of it, to be precise. It's baffling because the characters and setting had the potential for the writers to go all out. / Lesson learned: Keep your expectations in check. ()

Antropologia dla początkujących (2010) (S02E01)

angielski After the first season finale, the start of the second season couldn't unpleasantly surprise me anymore. The first episode smoothly continued the previous story, delivering exactly what I anticipated – more relationship troubles paired with minimum weak humor. Then came the bonus: it looks like annoying Chang is set to be even more annoying, as he'll be present in a larger dose than before. The only positive aspect of the episode was the anthropology professor with her blowgun and energy drink. / Lesson learned: Now that's what I call a sustainable resource. ()

Księgowość dla prawników (2010) (S02E02)

angielski While I found the previous episode to be very poor, this one managed to step up and get to the level of just poor. It failed to deliver a fresh dose of entertainment, awkwardly following up on previous events. The only reason I could muster a second star was for Annie and her perfectly mastered enchanting. / Lesson learned: Think on your feet. ()

Psychologia odpuszczania (2010) (S02E03)

angielski Oh well, the pace of the second season feels even slower than the first one. The third episode didn't deviate from the established pattern, where the creators make a decent effort to be funny but fall a bit short. After three episodes, they've only managed to squeeze a few uncertain smiles from me. It lacks that light touch and feels a bit forced. / Lesson learned: Judicial power can bestow upon you a Power that no Jedi has ever dreamt of. ()

Podstawy nauki o budowie rakiet (2010) (S02E04)

angielski It looks like the creators of the series have settled into their groove in the second season, and my rating seems to be stuck at a steady level. The only issue is that the standard they've settled into is pretty darn low. This episode initially got me excited with its parody of big-budget space movies, and I started to feel hopeful. But alas, that annoying preachy tone came back. / Lesson learned: Claustrophobia is not a desired accessory for a stay in a spaceship or a submarine. ()

Mesjańskie mity i ludzie strożytni (2010) (S02E05)

angielski Even in this case, the creators failed to do a good job. This episode was completely off. The only star goes to the great Abed, and I'm finally clear on who the most annoying character is. The gang of uncontrollable retirees was shamelessly ripped off from Monty Python, except instead of grandmothers, they mostly used grandfathers. / Lesson learned: Anything but religion! ()

Epidemiologia (2010) (S02E06)

angielski My first four-star rating of the second season. That's cause for celebration.  The creators nailed it with the Halloween party, infusing humor and a zombie infection into the sixth episode. This episode certainly stands out and feels almost out of place. Abed deserves props for the best costume, but gotta give credit to the creators...Shirley and Chang hooking up, not even I would have come up with that! :-) / Lesson learned: Zombies are dangerous, but they can't compare to the tax office. ()

Aerodynamika płci (2010) (S02E07)

angielski Watching the second season feels like the creators are on a mission to drown me. Last time, I managed to come up for air momentarily, catch my breath, but now I'm attempting to grow gills again because this episode offered little humor, except for the saving grace of the great Abed and the racist gardener. Instead, it went heavy on the moralizing again, and honestly, I'm just tired of it. / Lesson learned: Become a menace. ()

Kaligrafia (2010) (S02E08)

angielski Even though it was just another run-of-the-mill episode, it turned out slightly better for me than the previous one. It revolved around a low-budget search for a gel grip pen, and I enjoyed it more than the previous trampoline adventure. The crucial takeaway is that I finally found out something more about the situation around Annie's Boobs. / Lesson learned: Always look under the plaster. ()

Teorie spiskowe i wystrój wnętrz (2010) (S02E09)

angielski Well, what do you know? The creators managed to write an episode that I had fun watching for the second time this season. Admittedly, the plot veered completely off the main storyline — it was pretty much a dead-end. Yet, you had to enter this dead-end through a fortress constructed out of blankets, all the while getting shot at by fake guns. Assuming they were fake. And was there even a dead-end? Who knows? Heck, maybe this episode doesn't even exist. / Lesson learned: Embracing conspiracy theories can be quite fun. ()

Certyfikat z miksologii (2010) (S02E10)

angielski The tenth episode kicked off with some promising vibes, making it seem like it was about to unfold a storyline that could really grab my attention. The letdown was real, though, as the creators went for annoying moralizing, lectures, and explaining the only right way instead of actually writing some good jokes. / Lesson learned: Birthday parties are overrated. ()

Niekontrolowane Święta Abeda (2010) (S02E11) śmieć!

angielski Okay, the creators officially pushed me to my breaking point and made me award a zero-star rating. This episode went for animation (for reasons I can't fathom) and a bunch of things that just aren't my cup of tea: Christmas clichés, drama instead of humor, songs, and a hefty dose of associated claptrap. Usually, holiday episodes of sitcoms are gold, but it looks like Community might be the exception that proves the rule. / Lesson learned: If you ever feel like you're an animated character, you might want to stop doing drugs. ()

Badania populacji Azji (2011) (S02E12)

angielski The silver lining this time around was that I didn't feel the need to give zero stars — the episode edged a bit better than the last one. Humor was still in short supply, and the jokes were mostly on the weird side. To add to the mix, there was a moral lesson, which somehow managed to make the whole situation even less enjoyable. / Lesson learned: Decomposing corpses definitely don't belong in the river. ()
