Koi Mere Dil Mein Hai

The poor plot of the classic quadrangle would be just enough for the length of a straightforward commercial and here it takes over two hours. So be it. It's not exactly the worst thing that can happen to you, but Indian films can do magic much better. The main problem here is the disproportionately regular rotation of edited MTV music videos and bland pre-wedding buzz. The dialogue is on a par with the pearls of social-realist conversations between lovers, and the acting can boldly rival both Days of Our Lives and Baywatch. I wonder where Asha and Raj are today? Hopefully, they will never enter the collective consciousness as Manuela's twin brother with his face destroyed by a propeller. Still, it's worth it to me to at least set aside these unhappy memories and instead learn something about the color of another culture. A wedding in red is an experience in and of itself. (02.03.2010)
