The six-month eruption of a volcano in 1973 is recorded in unexpectedly detailed closeup shots from the moment of the first ash eruption all the way to images of the flowing lava that ended up increasing the size of the island. The film also shows the evacuation of the local residents, a village covered in ash, and its subsequent recovery. (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)
