Nippon-koku Furuyashiki-mura

While working on this film, the filmmaking team frequently adopted the methods of scientific documentary. The film's first part is a painstaking study of the influence of cold weather on the harvest, but the later interviews with and ancient stories of the villagers create a tale of the modernization of Japanese society.
