Made by Cardiff-based production company Indus, the series documented Bruce's journey from the Peruvian Andes to the Atlantic coast. Parry described the series as a "team effort". He also paid tribute to the people of the Amazon for allowing them into their homes to tell their "often traumatic stories" as he reminded the audience of the importance of the loss of the rainforest and climate change.
