I don’t like anthology films very much and this one is very weak at that. Twenty minutes is not enough for most authors to develop an interesting story, so I expected that they would bet either on atmosphere or black humour, but Tales from the Crypt is woefully lousy and unsatisfactory in every aspect. I can be more forgiving with the first and the last stories, which reach at least an average level, but I’d rather not speak about the “shocking” twist of the entire film, I don’t think it would have been surprising even in 1910.
