Řeč, ale žádná slova

Through images of her hometown of Kiev – slides held in front of the camera’s lens – the director records her new home, Prague. She selects places with a relationship to her experiences with another country, language, customs. The film thus becomes a poetic collage of the present day and memory, whose symbols soak into and shape current experiences. The filmmaker’s personal reading of her new home shows her enchantment but also betrays a sadness from her distance to the familiar. (Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival)
