It's probably not even necessary to debate whether it's a sequel or not, although there are some shared characters here, especially Nighy's. Once again, it's a calm, almost senior-level tension, where it's a very subdued thriller, even in terms of violence, which is minimal here. The psychology doesn't really work either, and it's just the characters that manage to hold your attention.
