In the wake of a botched bust meant to shut down an organ-trafficking ring, undercover cop Kit (Wu Jing) has his cover blown. As payback, the sinister gang sends him to a Thai prison run by a corrupt warden (Zhang Jin), who swaps Kit's identity with that of a prisoner facing a life sentence. Meanwhile, Chai (Tony Jaa), a guard at the prison, is desperate to find a bone-marrow donor who will save his daughter's life. Though aware of Kit's wrongful imprisonment, Chai has no choice but to thwart the innocent man's escape attempts as he tries to save enough money for the life-saving operation. These two trapped men will end up fighting to save themselves as well as the lives of their loved ones, and no prison can hold them. (Toronto International Film Festival)

(2015). Great action scenes. The prison fight and the (Vivaldi) finale are very well done. Hong Kong and Taiwan schools at their peak. The story revolving around illegal organ trafficking isn’t bad, but it’s confusing, with a couple of strange twists. It could have scored four stars, but some stuff is just too far-fetched. It has no connection whatsoever with part one. Tony’s Jaa is still the same old Jaa… Chop him up and throw him to the dogs. ()
It's not quite as great as the first installment, which was made in 2005, but the filmmakers were aiming for the same thing - to bring audiences an action movie that has emotion in it. But I think it's still mainly the action aspect that will make the film memorable. There are fights here that are gritty but at the same time choreographically stunning. ()
