This song was originally written for Cher by her then-husband Sonny Bono. Within the same year, Nancy Sinatra arrived with her first cover, followed by an endless series of others around the world. Today, few people will probably associate this song with Cher, who lived through the 1960s as actively as many others, but unlike them, she held her own.
