Gross domestic happiness is more important than gross domestic product, proclaimed the king of Bhutan, an isolated Himalayan country. Eight-year-old Peyangki lives in a mountain village where the people know nothing but work and Buddhism. His mother can no longer support him so he is sent to a monastery, but the little monk longs for a different life. When the king announces that television broadcasting and Internet will be established in the country, the Bhutanese are so excited they can hardly wait. Even the residents of the small mountain village are curious and impatient. So Peyangki and his uncle travel to the capital to buy a TV. Will it bring them happiness? Magnificent footage of the Himalayas and emotional music complete the atmosphere of the film. (One World)
