Accidentally, the fate of two people is coupled tragically. The members of the rubber factory brigade go pubbing of the money they have got for some innovation. They would go on with revelry already drunken in a first class bar, but a man with a white scarf has them thrown out. Károly gathers enough courage at last this night to introduce his lover to his mother and settles his life. Having said good-bye to Éva, at dawn, he meets Andor of the work brigade, who thinks it was him with the white scarf and knocks him down in wrath.
