Tomorrow We Disappear

This visually and musically compelling film is a colourful collage of the lives of artists, magicians, puppeteers and artists living in a New Delhi suburb. The colonies that emerged here over decades and whose art became an Indian national treasure today are threatened with extinction. The government sold the land on which they are located to property developers. The residents cannot imagine that their art, which is so tied to street life, will blossom in the high-rise flats to which they are being resettled. Against the backdrop of these events is a carousel of melancholy memories and reflections about whether to forget their previous life and move on or stay and fight for their homes and traditions.
