From the professional poker player who once won $18 million on the turn of a card to a local bail bondsman on the trail of a wanted man, Trevor searches high and low for people with absorbing tales whose experiences paint a wider picture of life in Vegas. Trevor tracks down a fugitive mobster hiding out in Sin City and meets a former prostitute who now rescues working girls from the Strip and whisks them back to a million dollar safe house in the suburbs.

And, in a memorable encounter, he meets heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson at his south Las Vegas home to find out what life is like once the lights have gone down on a gilded career from a man who regularly obliterated opponents in the city's iconic boxing arenas.

Against a backdrop of a landscape that is still scarred by the financial crash of 2008 – the skeletons of stalled casino projects stand along the Strip – Trevor discovers that Vegas is a city of winners and losers where the stakes are high for casino kingpins and ordinary people alike.
