Sepsis is a visual experiment created by Pamela Annecke over the course of two years. In her final school film, the author combined almost 50 kinds of food and chemicals, which she mixed to create visuals closely resembling medical photos of tumours and internal bleeding. In these pictures, she searched for similar colours, structures and movements, which helped her with the dramaturgy of the motion picture. She applied time lapse and stop‑motion techniques to create a film, which contains sequences that aim to evoke the life of an organism, its struggle against an aggressive disease and its gradual disintegration. The author's interest in the illusionary potential of images and an overall feeling of the fragility of the human organism are an important feature of the film. (Academia Film Olomouc)
