Opisy(1)

The director's feature debut, the poetic ballad, The Knight, takes place in a medieval kingdom ruled by poverty and chaos. A young knight, whose desire is to establish order again, sets out on a quest to find a legendary harp with golden strings in order to bring change and happiness to the people once more. He learns to tell Good from Evil and to understand himself on the allegorical journey for knowledge. Seen as a universal allegory to morality and a tribute to the medieval painting and culture, the film is comparable to top films of the European cinema such as Ingmar Bergman's The Seventh Seal or František Vláčil's Valley of the Bees.
