Twenty-year-old Lauri is autistic and must rely on others for help, not only for routine tasks, but also in order to communicate with the world. Interpreter Pirjo, who works in a specialised centre, helps him express himself through an electronic tablet. The daily struggle with the practical difficulties of studying in the centre or at home is interspersed with meditative shots of the local forest, where Lauri goes to think. The film also features Lauri's texts, which help us understand the processes taking place inside him. His personality is not lost in translation; indeed, the interpretation simply translates it into a form that we can understand. (One World)
