angielski The opening of this film with intertitles in German is a fascinating experience. Those familiar with the sound remake of the film will enjoy the shifting of the storyline to the present day and the spicy cast. Rovenský plays Bezoušek, his son is Pištěk, and the main lovers are the classic dream couple of Czech film of the 1920s, Anny Ondra and Karel Lamač. The humorous parts can be found in Bezoušek's train journey with Hermína Vojtová and later in his games with his granddaughters. It’s always nice to see Antonia Nedošinská and Josef Šváb-Malostranský in a silent film. However, the best about it is Anny Ondra in a civilian dress and with a hairstyle made of the most charming curls in the style of Mary Pickford. She wore such dresses only exceptionally during photoshoots and in a few films. It’s really too bad about the other parts of the film which featured Máňa Ženíšková, who started out in supporting roles in films with Anny Ondra or Jindřich Plachta. Incidentally, Plachta and Vojtová later became the only actors to star in the 1941 remake. Vojtová turned from a passenger into Zuranov's sister Bubačka and Plachta from a pensioner into the tax inspector Věnceslav Karbulka. ()
