A woman is on the phone to her friend Ana: Yes, it is for good, she says and adds that the children do not know anything about it yet. Just a glance at her disappointed and helpless expression is enough to tell us that Sophia, recently separated from her husband, is in a crisis. So, what to do? She packs suitcases and takes her daughters to Ana’s house at the sea. Irina, her fourteen-year-old, has obviously figured out what is going on. Her six-year-old sister Pachi, whose short sighted eyes behind large, nerdy white glasses, observes the world around her with great curiosity and is still caught in her childish world of story books and fantasy, while Irina isolates herself with the help of the music on her headphones. The older one is not thrilled about the move, but Pachi only asks her mother why they have never been to the sea before. It is not the right season, it is windy and cold and Pachi overhears her mother crying one night. This does not bode well. (Internationales Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg)
