(HBO)

Howards End (2017)

angielski Here’s the thing - I originally thought the series would be about something completely different. My bad, I should have read the synopsis. I was entertained by the story at times but also slightly bored at other times. What I would highlight is definitely the interesting cast, but otherwise it was nothing special. ()

Episode 1 (2017) (E01)

angielski I expected a slow and lazy pace of the story and the setting of the English countryside, which was only partially fulfilled (the lazy pace). There isn't much to say about the story after the first episode, but I was pleased with the cast. DI Edmund Reid and Peggy Carter entertained me, but especially Tracey Ullman!!! ()

Episode 2 (2017) (E02)

angielski Yes, the second episode convinced me that something is missing from the story. The time and setting in which the series is set are absolutely perfect for me, but I somehow can't fully engage with the plot. Maybe it's because I'm strangely obsessed with idealized movies and series set in English gentlemen's estates, and the title of the series somewhat deceived me. ()

Episode 3 (2017) (E03)

angielski But yeah, in the third episode, the plot came alive a little and the storyline started to look interesting, although I still feel robbed of the anticipated division of participants on people above the stairs and below the stairs. I'm curious how the creators will wrap everything up, but I think four episodes are just right. ()

Episode 4 (2017) (E04)

angielski The final episode, therefore, didn't convince me too much, the plot lazily dragged on the entire time, which wouldn't bother me that much if the creator hadn't clearly started to rush and tried to wrap up all the storylines in ten minutes. It's a shame they didn't conclude the series with a scene where Meg announces that she's leaving for Munich, in which case I would add a star. ()
