The management of once-famous and maybe even classical Dejvice Theatre is faced with an unexpected and essentially existential trial. The cultural institution is denied a grant and finds itself in a situation when the members are forced to care for themselves, i.e. round up money for its operation while maintaining their artistic ambitions. That is the premise of a comedy series whose main and only protagonist is the troupe of the Dejvice Theatre inevitably headed towards its doom. It’s a mystification using elements of absurd and black humor and inspired by the poetics of this very theatre. – This six-part series stars all members of the theatre company as well as other staff members, relatives and friends. And yes, everyone stars as themselves. (MFFK Febiofest)

Zkáza Dejvického divadla (2019) 

angielski I have rather mixed feelings about the series. I was really looking forward to it, but I didn't get as much fun as I'd expected. There were far too many cringeworthy moments in the story, balanced out by excellent ones, but there should have definitely been more. Well, I won't get overly critical, because Miluška looked determined, and I don't want to end up like Dráteník. ()

Režisér (2019) (E01) 

angielski After the first episode, I felt a slight disappointment. Whenever actors from Dejvické divadlo are involved in something, I expect a powerful impact on my senses, but that somehow didn't happen. It's true that I was genuinely entertained in some parts, but most of the time I was just smiling a little bit. ()

AIDS (2019) (E02) 

angielski I criticized the previous episode for a lack of humor, but I didn't have such a problem with the second episode. The influence of a heavy jobovka on the atmosphere in the theater and especially on the behavior of each individual and the whole collective was perfectly executed, I couldn't help but laugh. ()

Vládci loutek (2019) (E03) 

angielski The series is now exactly as I wished it to be. I had a great time with the crazy storyline, David Novotný impressed me with his puppeteering performance, Martin Myšička with his managerial decision, and Ivan Trojan with his silent depression. Additionally, I have to say that Spejbl and Hurvínek were excellent alive. ()

Šmejdi (2019) (E04) 

angielski The fourth episode was not bad, but it couldn't compare to the two previous ones. It was a funny affair that occasionally stumbled upon some small awkwardness, but it didn't cause any bursts of joy for me. Actually, no, I'd be lying, the final "escort" scene was perfect. ()

Smrad (2019) (E05) 

angielski At times, I had a great time, at times the plot was quite weak, but in the end, the successful moments outweighed the unsuccessful ones for me. The autograph of Hynek Čermák for Helenka probably amused me the most, it was a great moment, just like his conversation with Milušča's husband. ()

Zkáza (2019) (E06) 

angielski No, I wasn't very pleased with the final episode by the creators. The humor noticeably decreased, I couldn't find anything that would make me laugh out loud, and the pace seemed a bit tired to me. The only genuine amusement I actually got was when Bóbik (or rather Ládík) was mentioned. ()
