When Xabi ends his relationship with Sara, her day to day becomes a huge space to fill, just like the walls of a semi empty and rarified flat. After a long cohabitation, all of the elements he understood as recognisable become cryptic. Pablo Hernando's first long feature uses as starting point the vital routine of his apathetic protagonist (Xabi Tolosa) to transform everyday spaces into a dream like second reality where the world he was clinging to is diluted into a strange rocky landscape and a mysterious suitcase. The progressive decomposition of fictional language into a labyrinthine journey whose integration of formats and tones presents an author who is not afraid to break templates, becomes witness of Xabi's profound mental collapse.
