I'm usually apprehensive about movies and series based on my favorite books, but this one was a nice surprise. Although the creators obviously didn’t follow the original to the letter, I didn't mind because I got a very well-filmed anti-war series with decent acting performances and a great combination of humor and drama. So, instead of the expected disappointment, I had a great time. (25.08.2019)

I read the book a long time ago, I saw the film shortly after, and both had their own power, in comparison to what I read and saw, the pilot episode of the series did not turn out bad at all. The proper rubber behaves the same way in times of peace and war, and therefore is even more dangerous. The fall without permission from a superior and its subsequent resolution completely shattered me, those dialogues were simply magical. (24.08.2019)

I am currently satisfied, the depressive atmosphere was strongly felt in the episode, even though the creators used a lot of humor to disguise it a little. The promotion of Sergeant Major Major Major Major to Major Major Major Major was a perfect example of military absurdity, bureaucracy simply does not let go. It reminded me of my experience in the Army, when we were supposed to go as part of a logistics and technical support convoy from Přerov to CIAF in Hradec Králové. The driver and I perfectly cleaned the car in three weeks, just to find out two days before departure that we would be traveling in the biggest wreck, because the squadron's vehicle fleet administrator (Lieutenant Jarmil Peluha - serves you right, you scoundrel!) accidentally wrote a different license plate number in the travel order and refused to change it. The third episode somewhat spared humor, this time the creators played on a serious note and I can say it worked for them. Although I completely understand the nonsense of war and hate dumb orders, I have to admit that Yossarian has strongly lost my sympathies. Having to rely on someone like him to have my back in a critical situation... (24.08.2019)

If the creators were sparing with humor in the previous episode, it certainly didn't apply in this installment. Mila's business trips around Europe and Africa were flawless, and I also enjoyed Yossarian's "overtime". However, the episode didn't forget about more serious moments, so it worked very well as a whole. (25.08.2019)

I enjoyed the fifth episode the most so far, the initial decision about appropriate punishment really got me engaged, the nighttime raid of German bombers on the "green zone" was perfect, and the arrival of General Scheisskopf promises an overall increase in absurdity in the future. (25.08.2019)

The creators concluded the whole series dignifiedly with the final episode. Humor complemented the drama and occasional melancholic atmosphere perfectly. The situation was constantly changing, I kept transitioning from the cheerful phase to the serious one and vice versa, and the whole thing made a very good impression on me. (25.08.2019)
