Zoborožce na Filipínách (E05)

The documentary from the cycle Czechs Save brings us to the island of Negros in the Philippines. In the town of Kabankala, Pavel Hospodářský and the local community built a rescue centre for endangered species. Talarak is the indigenous name of the yellow-billed hornbill, one of the most endangered birds in the world, and also the name of the centre saving endangered animals. Its aim is to provide these, often barely surviving, species with the abilities to live and reproduce in the wild. It also teaches the local community how to take care of nature. Due to plantations, the natural space is reducing, but planting new forests, where animals can find shelter in the future, is one of the most important precautions. (Academia Film Olomouc)
