Queen of Rio

Fabio lives with his boyfriend and a domineering secretary at the Copacabana Palace in Rio. His Uncle Charlie gives him monthly instalments to puchase the famous hotel, but Fabio fritters it all away. When the manager announces that the hotel bills are unpaid, it turns out that Charlie has married and is in the hospital, broke. When Charlie dies, the little family has to move to a favela. Fabio must adapt to a very different lifestyle and gradually realizes that love is worth much more than money. (Montreal World Film Festival)
