Porno para principiantes

Montevideo,1980 (a compelling period and setting). Victor (Martín Piroyansky) is an amateur filmmaker about to sell his camera to help pay for a (very small) part of his wedding so as to deprive his future father in law of the pleasure of saying he bankrolled the whole thing. Said father in law has also offered him an unappealing job at the bank he runs. But then comes what appears to be salvation: a not particularly legit ‘businessman’ (Daniel Aráoz) gives Victor and his friend from the video store (Nicolás Furtado) the chance to make a film. But Victor’s joy will be short-lived: it’s a porn movie. (Mar del Plata International Film Festival)
