Słowo na L: Generacja Q (2019)

angielski We've lived in the post-The L Word era for a decade, and we've lived through the reality show The Real L Word, but few would have thought we'd see a full-fledged sequel. And indeed, Generation Q is upon us. The new characters fit perfectly among the classic trio of Alice, Bette, and Shane. Angie has grown up and other characters are mentioned here and there... I hope GQ will be with us for a few very good years, because this bunch deserves it. Season 3 is coming soon. ()

Less is More (2019) (S01E02)

angielski It's really happening, The L Word is still going! <3 The global LGBT community is evolving, and so is one of its most important spokespeople. Times have changed, with shows like TLW and Queer as Folk contributing positively, and it's a joy to watch new chapters in this never-ending story. ()

Lost Love (2019) (S01E03)

angielski The drama is gathering momentum on all sides. How will the posh father of the attractive Dani cope with the L wedding, and what will the poorer bride's family say? And how will the new relationship between the wild girl and the pastor of the multicultural church evolve? So many questions. :D ()

LA Times (2019) (S01E04)

angielski A new venture, Dana's (named in memory of a beloved character from an old TV show), is taking off. Shane is funding the missing L business in the center of his new home, and the wives are getting more and more entangled in their loves. ()

Labels (2020) (S01E05)

angielski The aftermath of a night of passion is getting more and more interesting. Yet who else but Alice can handle a triplet? And how will Dani cope with the new problem with her father and Bette? Can she make the right choice between love and career? ()

Lose it All (2020) (S01E07)

angielski There are few shows I experience as fully as GQ. Yet this is simply an absolute delight. New characters and old ones meet, their stories intertwine, and it creates a beautiful new whole. Suspenseful, emotional, sexy. Old couples are replaced by new ones, but love does not disappear. And next episode we get the grand finale! Is there going to be a wedding? ()

Late to the Party (2021) (S02E01)

angielski Season 1 began in December 2019, and Season 2 continues through August 2021. I've never experienced a longer wait for a series cliffhanger. But it's a happy reunion again, and except for one line, I'm thrilled with all the ideas. Hopefully, maybe even Shane will offer something interesting soon. Lots of joy, humor and love are the essential ingredients of TLW: GenQ. ()

Lobsters, Too (2021) (S02E05)

angielski We'd almost forgotten what a beast Shane used to be and this was a great reminder. The family therapy with Angie in the lead was a treat and her speech was the first one that featured BLM and it all made sense, oddly enough. I love that Alice is bisexual. ()

Love Shack (2021) (S02E06)

angielski So many climaxes in one karaoke party at Dana's. The joy of TLW is back. The relationship shenanigans make sense and they're not just empty scripted flourishes. I like the fact that even though the main characters are from a wide LGBT+ spectrum, it isn’t an issue to write them as believable individuals who, despite everything and everyone, are fighting for their place in the sun and find their place in society, their economic status, and some of them are full of petty-bourgeois prejudice at their core. ()

Light (2021) (S02E07)

angielski Another great episode. After the last excellent karaoke climax comes the part with the cloudburst. And the good tradition of TLW continues the way the fans love it. It's time to remember the episode Liquid Heat, in which Bette and Tina were stuck in an elevator. ()

Launch Party (2021) (S02E08)

angielski The finale is coming up and in the best TLW tradition, emotions need to be properly heightened, and relationships between the girls, in the workplace and in politics need to be recombined. Alice had a wonderful book launch, Finn/Soph are in some real trouble, Shane is well on his way to heaven, and Bette is becoming more and more herself... It's gonna be a blast. Because in the end, the only one that needs saving is GG. ()

Season 3 (2022) (S03)

angielski As a whole, I liked season 3 overall, and space was again given to the romance of TiBette, gradually the familiar faces from the original series returned such as Daniel Sea and Rose Rollins. There was even a musical and sitcom episode. It was time for Halloween and Thanksgiving. And overall, the creators of TLW finally pulled their heads out of their ass and apologized to the trans community, to whom they did a disservice in the original series. Those two decades were a long journey, during which even lesbians learned that the whole LGBT+ spectrum deserves respect, and that it's not just about them or gay men. ()

Locked Out (2022) (S03E05)

angielski This was great. I like how Angie is maturing, and I am curious to see how Shane will end up. ()

Quality Family Time (2023) (S03E08)

angielski A special episode dedicated to Thanksgiving. There had to be one marriage proposal and a small family secret from the Finley family. It's nice when even a definitively positive drama reflects on the ugly side of the L issue in an American small town. ()

Looking Ahead (2023) (S03E10)

angielski The final of the whole TLW phenomenon is surprisingly a somewhat fragmented comedy, a wedding farce for some of the characters and a devastating drama for others. Even in the middle of the episode, it looked like a well-thought-out ending with all the trappings, but then came the twists that no one will ever worry about, because there will be no 4th season and that is really a shame. Long-time viewers will have to be satisfied with a happy ending for TiBette. ()
