Film is much more than an art and a language: it’s the fountain of youth. In I diari di Angela - Noi due cineasti Yervant Gianikian gave eternal life to Angela Ricci Lucchi, his wife, who passed away in 2018, with whom he had been making political avant garde cinema since the 1970s. As though that act of love weren’t enough, a year later Gianikian made the second part of a documentary that lends a voice and images to Angela’s diaries. I diari di Angela - Noi due cineasti - Capitolo secondo lays bare the private life of a couple of filmmakers who worked together on films that addressed weighty topics such as war, colonialism and fascism.
