In his series about popular Belgian festivals, Storck brings the carnival celebrations and Shrove Tuesday to life. In a convincing way, he manages not only to have the characteristic deafening music and noise blare from the screen; he also aptly visualises the beauty, the chaos and the passion of the pertinent rituals. And Storck would not be Storck if he did not have an eye for social tensions: the carnival crowd must make way for the mounted police.
